Topics include mineral structure and composition, bonding, optical properties, phase transformations, stabilities and surface properties. Mineral resources and the role of minerals in the man-made environment is also discussed. Intended for students interested in learning about the constituents of planet Earth and the techniques used in their characterization (both traditional and modern) at various scales.
