The study of the link between engineering, and management. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the foundations of engineering management. Topics covered include the concept of engineering management, its relationship to engineering, and its historical underpinnings, the traditional roles of management with particular emphasis on leadership skills to manage projects and processes, as well as the organizational and administrative abilities required to oversee the day-to-day operational performance of complex engineering. The ethical dimensions of the organization and the engineering community are also explored.
