The complexity of data-driven written and visual information has increased dramatically. “Flatland” or two-dimensional data presentations on paper or computer monitor are commonly flat and static. In this course, students will examine historic data presentations, explore engaging ways to represent complex information (while retaining fidelity to the data within), and learn to design effective data-based projects. The course is structured as a laboratory/design studio.
