This course surveys and introduces the concepts and components of computer-based “management information systems” (MIS) and their optimal integration into organizational processes. To that end, the course examines approaches for developing and using information systems in support of organizational processes and objective. Topics include the impact of computer-based information systems on organizations; the fundamental technology components of modern information systems; the process by which information systems are created and changed; and potential management and technology issues.
