Enhancing Critical Thinking

ENGR-4450

This course is intended for engineering students interested in improving their critical and creative thinking abilities as they examine the ethical impact of their engineering decisions. The course facilitates a social and interactive learning environment where the development of core behaviors for deeper conversations are explored through clear communication of problem analysis. Using classic engineering cases, students explore ambiguities, value assumptions, fallacies in reasoning and learn to improve their ability to develop unique ideas, overcome objections, and persuade others in an ethical manner. Students cannot receive credit for both this course and ISYE 4450.
